Addicted to CAS Challenge #139: Girl Power Take 2

On a similar idea of Girl Power, it comes from the motivation and drive to be who we are wherever our adventure takes us. Even in a new environment, it's not always going to be smooth sailing. It's about building resilience to continue to be the person we are and continuing to care for those around us. Wherever is spelt incorrectly as "Whereever" to indicate the idea that things will not always go according to plan and it's about being flexible to adjust to our surroundings while still continuing to uphold the values that make up who we are.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #139: Girl Power

It's been a lonnng time since I last participated in a card challenge...I guess card making took a long pause with the busyness of work. Since it's now summer vacation for me, let's get back into it :)

Since the code word is Girl Power, I thought that one of the biggest indicators of Girl Power is love. Without caring for one another, we cannot help ourselves and others grow to be the best version of self.

Magic in the making

It's been a long time since I've entered into a card challenge but seeing other's creativity can often spur the inspiration and motivation.

I'm entering my card for The Paper Player's recent challenge to use an autumn treat.

Without any food type of stamps, I decided to create the pumpkin by cutting out a stencil. I used 2 different stamps to stamp in the yellow and orange texture for the pumpkin. After I added some Perfect Pearls for that extra sparkle and hand wrote my first association with pumpkins, "Biddidi bobbidi boo." :)

Reboot with Baby Groot

It's been almost 3 years since I last blogged!

The busyness of work took over for awhile. Now that I have a little bit of time on my hands, I'm thinking of getting back into card making on a more consistent basis. Sooo, my first card to reboot my blog posts is Baby Groot! I hand carved the stamp and then stamped it onto a few different cardstock colours. It's available over at my Etsy shop that I've decided to open back up too :)

Happy Card-making!

Visit to Evergreen Brick Works

You know how I realllly don't like the cold so this past weekend had the perfect, warm fall weather when we went took a visit to Evergreen Brick Works. I just love the feeling of being in touch with nature again when we visit there.

One of the play areas for children had these outdoor bongo drums that was so fun to hear as the kids tapped them to their mood. I had never seen anything like it before and would LOVE to have some of those in my future dream garden :) There was also a sand play area surrounded by tree stumps (I have always wanted tree stumps used as seats) as well as a little walkway tunnel created from plants (kind of reminds me of a secret garden).

In their children's garden, there was so much going on-a camp fire, teepees, a yurt, walking on rocks, climbing up hills, and an exploration of colour.

It was wonderful being outdoors
as we sipped away at a warm smoked turkey, bacon, split pea soup against the sounds of the farmer's market and young families enjoying their day off.
